Santo Yoseph tops the district for reading growth
New assessment data shows our pupils made the strongest year-on-year gains in early reading across the district — and we know exactly why.
We do not chase league tables. But every so often the numbers tell a story worth sharing, and this year they did: our pupils made the strongest year-on-year gains in early reading of any school in the district.
We are proud, of course. But we are most proud of what sits behind the number — not a programme or a product, but people. Teachers who know every child by name and notice the exact moment a struggling reader needs a different book, a quieter corner, or simply a little more patience.
Growth like this is not won in an exam hall. It is won in a hundred small mornings, one child and one book at a time.
Small classes, big difference
With an average of eighteen children to a class and a one-to-nine teacher ratio, no one slips through the cracks here. Every hand that goes up gets seen. That is the whole secret, and it is not really a secret at all.
To the teachers, families and — above all — the children who made this happen: thank you. Now, back to the books.
